Historic Niagara is a real-estate development company currently engaged in the revitalization of Queen Street, Niagara Falls.
Historic Niagara Developments Incorporated, with over ten years experience within the community, has undertaken a major role in the revitalization of the City of
Niagara Falls downtown core and has spent over twenty million dollars to date in its efforts. Historic Niagara Developments Incorporated (HNDI) presently owns fifty-nine properties in and along the Queen Street area. The company has recently renovated twenty-four of these properties, which equates to approximately one hundred fifteen thousand square feet within a six month period.
In recent months, Historic Niagara Developments Incorporated has been able to catch the attention of many prominent businesses to the
Queen Street area. Such businesses include Balzac’s, which is well known for its presence within the Distillery District in
Toronto and downtown
Stratford. Artists and art galleries have also found a new home within HNDI properties; some of these are well known artists who have relocated from Niagara-on-the-Lake to be a part of the Queen Street redevelopment. The artists and their galleries include: John Newby, 4349 Gallery, Chris Witovoet, Jonathan Adams and the most recent addition being, Edward Spera, famed naturalist artist.
A recent coup for HNDI was the attraction of “The Buttery”, renowned for its King Henry the 8th Feasts. The Buttery will soon be relocating from Niagara-On-the-Lake to the
Queen Street area and bring with them 35 years of experience. They have made a commitment to lease their new location and expand their operation to just over double their original size. Furthermore, renovations have begun to transform the Seneca Theatre (circa 1920) back to its original art deco stature. The Seneca Theatre will have its Grand Opening in December of 2008 kicking off with the production of “Cats”. HNDI is, at present, negotiating the rental of space to others such as entrepreneurs, bistro’s, boutiques, and food outlets.
In an unprecedented marketing move, Historic Niagara’s C.E.O., Mordechai Grun, was instrumental in the creation of the not-for-profit organization, Celebrate Old Downtown. The organization’s mandate is to promote the downtown core of
Niagara Falls through festivals and events which will in turn attract large volumes of people to the old core. Mr. Grun sits on Celebrate Old Downtown’s Board and holds the position of President. Mr. Grun is also an active board member of the Niagara Falls Business Improvement Association (BIA). The BIA is an organization that is fully dedicated to the growth and revitalization of
Queen Street.
The development team of HNDI include:
Mordechai Grun and Larry Marconi. These two individuals have extensive in-house expertise in leasing, renovating, franchising, development and property management. Their collective experiences extend from
Miami to
California to
Ontario. HNDI offers unparalleled commitment, dedication, expertise and creativity to all their tenants, new and old.
