The Vision for Queen Street
Queen Street is being revitalized! Queen St. is being revitalized to its once prominent status as the center of Niagara Falls Ontario. The street is being populated by hand selected businesses to create a unique shopping, dining, and entertainment experience. Check out the exciting schedule of events and activities and read up on the businesses and restaurants.
Entertainment
The Seneca theater is being restored to its original Art Nouveau decor. The theater will open in December of 2008 with a production of Cats.
Queen St. will also play host to festivals and street events that will focus attention on what the street has to offer. For these events the street will be shut down to traffic to allow people to roam the street and sample what Queen St. has to offer.
Restaurants
A variety of new restaurants are being introduced to Queen St. The restauranteurs being selected cover the gamut from upscale fast food, to kosher dining, to bistros to fine dining experiences.
Shopping
The stores being introduced to Queen St. are being selected to create a unique shopping experience. The first shops to be included on the street are unique artist galleries by some of the most popular artists in Canada and in the Niagara Region. Queen street will feature one of the most popular Canadian Native artists - as well as perennial favourite John Newby. The various galleries along Queen St. will feature a number of ‘resident’ artists and will host shows for new or established artists. There will always be something new to see on Queen St.
