I would like to welcome
you into a world of beautiful collectible treasures, and some history
of my journey and life time into the world of glass. Angelo was born in
Murano Venice, Italy. Angelo's family worked with glass for over seven
centuries, following the closely-guarded teachings and traditions of
Venetian artistic glassmaking, where the art secrets of making glass
were transferred from father to son for many generations. Angelo started to learn at the age of ten with his father in Murano the capital city of glass blowing artisans. In 1971 Angelo decided that he was ready to sart his own business and opened a glass blowing studio in Cornwall, Ontario, where he found two glass factories, one called "Chalet Glass" and the other "Artistic Lighting". You can find histories of Angelo in the Canadian libraries, as well as the Toronto Museum of Art, under both names. In 1990, Angelo started a new company called Rossi Glass owned and operated by Angelo Rossi. Angelo's glass blowing studio become the first and only manufacturer of CRANBERRY GLASS in all of Canada. The cranberry glass made with the addition of 22k gold, soon became a famous, highly collectible work of art. In 1994, following an unfortunate accident, Rossi glass closed their doors in Cornwall, and Angelo returned to Italy. In May 1996 Angelo returned to Canada brining with him all the knowledge and trends from Venice to his new location in Niagara Falls, Ontario, next to the IMAX theater. In 2001, because of an unfavorable business partnership, Angelo was left with no choice but to sell Rossi Glass name and business. He traveled throughout the United States teaching glass blowing in colleges and universities, including at the University of Miami. He was a consultant for Fenton and Corning for colors and technical glass clarity's.... Among many well-knowen celebrities, Angelo had the opportunity to sculpture some custom glass works for Helton Jones, O.J. Simpson, The Bare Naked Ladies, James Cameron, Jane Fonda, Ted Turner Sidney Poitier, Gordon Scott, and many other famous celebrities. In 2006 Angelo decided to return to Niagara Falls where be built a glassblowing studio at Souvenir City, on River Road. Angelo worked there for four years. Later this studio was taken over by Rossi Glass Outlet who continue to operate independently at this location. Most of the glassblowers in Niagara Falls are Angelo's apprentices. Angelo is NOT AFFILIATED WITH Rossi Glass Outlet on River Road, or any Rossi Glass web site that you may find on the internet. For this reason, Angelo carefully advises all of his dedicated admirers and collectors to beware of the location and the name that they buy their glass works from. As Angelo states "they bought my name and my business but they are not allowed to use my identity." With great respect for his many friends, admirers, and devoted collectors worldwide Angelo wants to ensure that his collectors know that when they buy pieces of his glass, especially Cranberry Glass, that each piece must be signed by a reputable artist like Angelo, and that it is not made simply from a generic mold, and does not come from a mass production factories. These low quality glass are sold to unsuspecting buyers who are often wrongly told that they have bought original art pieces. Remember that low quality imitations are not a form of flattery. When you are willing to spend TOP dollar for an original piece of fine glass art, you must be very careful! BEWARE of poor quality IMITATION and many careless IMITATORS are their low quality knock-off glassware... All collectibles from Chalet Glass and Artistic lighting . and Angelo Rossi are from Maestro Angelo Rossi himself. All his collectibles are found today in Galleries and Museums around the world.
